The game lives, and it doesn't care whether you like bread or coal. Funtactix has finally launched The Hunger Games Adventures on Facebook, just like it said it would two days ago. Now, anyone and everyone from Peeta fans to Gale-admirers and Katniss-lovers can get a different look at Panem. The developer even explained what took so dang long ... sort of."The launch is the culmination of a series of fans-first promotions that have spread over the last several weeks. Owners of Hunger Games fan sites were the first to ever see the game, followed by their faithful readers and contributors," Funtactix said in a release. "The next week, over 100,000 fans were invited to join the game to celebrate the launch of the film in theaters on the 23rd."
This week, the game has already been updated with "Rue's Lullaby," Sting's new track from the official movie soundtrack along with a new exclusive film clip. Monster Galaxy maker gives Facebook its own anime with Soul Crash
And here you thought cheesy dialog and unnaturally large eyes were reserved for incomprehensible cartoons. Gaia Interactive, the studio behind Facebook hit Monster Galaxy, has entered the games publishing business with Soul Crash. A social game created by Korean developer PlayPlus, Soul Crash is essentially a fighting game on Facebook with a storyline akin to popular anime series like Naruto.Unless you simply can't get enough Bleach or what have you, the story in Soul Crash is generally inconsequential, but woven throughout the game. Players assume the role of a weakened warrior in search of repairing his or her soul, which amounts to how powerful they are in battle. But really, it's a plot device to explain the play hook.
Fighting is generally a passive, asynchronous experience--but only for a few seconds. Fighters attack each other automatically, but gain Soul Orbs over time, which allow players to tag out their other fighters and unleash counters. Finally, if you charge up Soul Orbs, you can go nuts on the enemy with a Soul Crash, but timing is everything.
Ultimately Soul Crash focuses on action-packed combat rather than social features, the former of which it has in spades. Players can add their friends to their team to fight side-by-side asynchronously and visit them for bonuses--pretty standard stuff. If you seek something completely different on Facebook (albeit with a tiny display), then look no further than Soul Crash.

I hope you've made a bit of progress in Prospect Falls within Pioneer Trail, as you can now build a new structure in both of these locations: the Telegraph Station. The Telegraph Station is available to users level 18 and above, and again, it can be built on both your original Homestead and in Prospect Falls.

CityVille Lava Rock Island: Everything you need to know
The fifth island in CityVille's massive island feature has now been revealed to be one called Lava Rock Island. This one is given to you for free, so long as you're at least Level 47 in the game before you attempt to place it. As a note, if you want additional Lava Rock Islands, you can purchase them from the store for 471,500 coins. You'll also, of course, need to place this island into a water expansion in your town, so plan ahead for exactly where you'd like to put it.Once you've placed the Lava Rock Island, you'll need to collect building materials to finish it off:
- 10 Island Maps
- 10 Palm Trees
- 10 Helicopter Headphones
- 10 Kettle Grills
- 10 Roof Thatches
You can earn these items via a combination of general news items on your wall and individual requests sent to neighbors. Once it's done, your Lava Rock Island will come complete with a variety of different buildings. The Geological Survey community building allows for 2,500 citizens to live in your town, while the Volcano Tours business requires 395 Goods to operate, but returns 2,045 coins on the other side. Finally, there are three homes worth 2,000, 180 and 1,750 citizens each and the Energy Volcano itself that pays out four energy for every 200 Goods you supply it with, once every 12 hours.
With this fifth island, your CityVille waters should be booming with activity, but I doubt this is the last we'll see of the island feature in the game just yet. We'll make sure to let you know if additional islands launch in the game, so keep checking back with us!

6waves Lolapps co-founder Brian Rue, CPO Arjun Sethi say buh bye
Social games developer gone publisher 6waves Lolapps, or 6L, has lost much more than its development staff. Gamasutra reports that company co-founder Brian Rue and CPO Arjun Sethi have left following layoffs last week. The two announced their departures on their personal blogs with nothing but bright and shiny things to say of the publisher."It's been a crazy ride of ups and downs and it feels very strange that it's come to an end," Rue wrote in a blog post. "I'm proud of the culture that we built, and it was especially evident this week as suddenly-former employees banded together to commiserate and find new companies to call home."
Rue went on to say that his next move will likely be starting a new company, and points to his AngelList profile for an idea of where that company will specialize. Based on that information, the executive's next company could easily be another social or mobile games developer. Sethi, however, mentions nothing of future prospects, but echoes Rue's sentiments of the strong Lolapps culture that will persist.
It's important to note that both Sethi and Rue originally came from Lolapps, the developer that the latter founded way back in 2008 and merged with Hong Kong-based publisher 6waves last year. It can't be said whether their departures are related to 6L cleaning house of its development staff (the Lolapps portion of the company). We've reached out to 6L for comment.

If you've already made your way through Part 1 in Hidden Chronicles' A Secret Past series, or even if you haven't, you now have even more work ahead of you as Part 2 in the series is now rolling out to players in the game. This second part of the lengthy feature comes complete with eight quests. We're here with a guide on how to get through those eight!A Secret Past - Part Two: 1 of 8
- Hide 3 Secret Packages
- Get 3 Roadmaps
- Place the 1930's Getaway Car
The 1930's Getaway Car costs 2,550 coins in the game's store and will give you 350 Estate Points when its placed and finished (you'll need four staff to help you out).
A Secret Past - Part Two: 2 of 8
- Play 3 Scenes
- Play 2 Games of FastFind
- Have 3,000 coins
Rewards: 250 coins and 45 XP
A Secret Past - Part Two: 3 of 8
- Find the Wine Glass in the Paris Bistro Scene
- Get 6 Cameras
- Complete the 1930's Getaway Car
For this Paris Bistro requirement, you'll be required to play that particular scene until the Wine Glass comes up as one of the items you're required to find. This could happen on the first time playing the scene, or the fifth (or even more), so there's definitely an element of luck here (in terms of how many energy you'll waste in waiting for the wine glass to appear). When you complete this third quest, you'll receive 250 coins, 45 XP and the On the Run scene for future play.
A Secret Past - Part Two: 4 of 8
- Earn 2 Trophies in the On the Run Scene
- Place Regina's Diner
- Hide 4 Secret Packages
Regina's Diner costs 2,650 coins and offers 600 Estate Points to your manor when it's completely built. You'll receive 280 coins and 50 XP for finishing this particular quest.
A Secret Past Part 2 - 5 of 8
- Play 3 Games of FastFind
- Get 5 Suitcases
- Place Any 2 Decorations
Since walkway tiles (normally) count as decorations, feel free to play some of those on your land in order to spend the least amount of coins possible in completing this goal.

FarmVille Pic of the Day: Have a slice of Willer2's consolation cake farm

Now you can have your farm and eat it too, thanks to FarmVille player Willer2 and his hay bale art, complete with plate and fork. Describing it as "Carrot Cake with Chocolate Chip Morsels", this farm-sized cake art was meant to be submitted to an official FarmVille cake contest hosted by Zynga, but according to Willer2, the official rules didn't call for real cake, so he baked one with pixels instead:
Moreover, Willer2 claims to have never gotten any recognition from Zynga for any of his submissions, none of which were particularly amazing, though his work is competent and, like the great Brayzdin, he has a unique, recognizable style. But his pixelated cake did get many compliments from other players, and personally, I consider it one of the best pieces of hay bale art floating around (even if it was hard to tell what it was at first).I've worked on my creation for a solid week and someone says it doesn't count??? I have read the original instructions over a number of times and I'm sorry..there is nothing in the original instructions that said to use eggs, flour, sugar, etc. I feel that my piece of ART should count...nuff daid??? [sic]
But that's probably because I've a soft spot for artsy looking pieces. Unlike the smooth, flat boldness of Deanna2u's burger farm, which is almost clip art-like, Willer2's farm obviously takes after Pointillism, a painting technique from the Neo-Impressionism movement. Presently, the only similar farm is AndreaHopps' Lighthouse Heart on the Sea, which is quite painterly and so heart-achingly gorgeous that I'll continue to insist it belongs in an art museum.
